Re-Entry Simulation

Step into the life of someone coming home from prison

CJM’s Reentry Simulation puts participants in the shoes of someone returning from prison. In just 90 minutes, you’ll face the same challenges our clients do — finding housing, getting a job, securing IDs, navigating transportation, and complying with parole — all while trying to rebuild a life.

How it Works

Each participant is given an Identity with background details and a Life Card of weekly tasks (buy food, meet with a parole officer, apply for work, attend treatment, etc.).

Stations are set up around the room (employer, bank, grocery store, DMV, and more), and participants must decide where to go each round — experiencing the demands and hurdles of reentry.

Attend one of CJM’s Simulation Events or Host Your Own!

Builds empathy, sparks conversation, and equips your group to respond to reentry challenges with compassion.

Businesses & employers, faith communities, universities & schools, civic groups, nonprofits, and anyone seeking to better understand reentry.

About 1.5 hours (adjustable).

We bring everything to your site — or you can host at CJM.

Free to host, with a suggested donation to cover materials
