Fire at CJM Property

Early morning Saturday 9/13/25, a devastating fire broke out at our Spring & Dunnica property. Thankfully, everyone is safe. One unit was completely destroyed, and several neighboring units sustained significant damage.

Our team is working closely with authorities and our insurance partners to assess the full scope of the damage, which is expected to reach into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. This loss hits especially hard after we just celebrated completion of a multi-year renovation of the property, made possible by hundreds of volunteer hours.

Just last month, we proudly completed the project and brought five brand-new units online. In a matter of hours, so much of that progress was undone.

As we begin the long process of rebuilding, our first priority is rehousing the clients who were living in—or preparing to move into—these units. We are coordinating temporary housing, basic needs, and ongoing case management so that each person remains safe and supported.

How Your Gift Helps

We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of care from volunteers, neighbors, and partners. Your support helps us move quickly to stabilize residents and plan for the rebuild, including supporting:

  • Emergency rehousing and essentials for impacted clients
  • Repairs and reconstruction of damaged units
  • Replacement of furnishings, appliances, and safety equipment
  • Continuity of wraparound services during displacement

Thank You for Standing With CJM

We trust in the resilience of our team and the strength of our community to rebuild. Thank you for your support, prayers, and generosity. Together, we will restore these homes and keep second chances within reach.
